Writing Extended Response provides for the scoring of reading prompts provided by Kinney and Associates. The questions extend from a reading story for 3rd – 8th grade students. Each student has the opportunity to utilize their writing skills and have their papers scored by a team of writing experts. A rubric that ranges from 0-4
Is used to score the writing papers. Best practices in writing are implemented by using 2 scorers to review and score each student’s writing samples. In addition, if the score for the student paper is a “tie” a third expert will score the paper.
The results of the extended response are provided via timely turnaround in order to adjust or enhance instruction based upon data from the student’s writing. Administrators and teachers receive individual and summary reports including class average rubric scores.
